Portfolio of Works

This series was born from an exploration of one of the realities of living with chronic illness - specifically, the confounding experience that while pain and illness can cause a lot of fatigue, rest often makes the pain worse. They began as juxtapositions of soft, comforting blankets against rough, hard bones, and evolved from there as they took on suggestions of landscapes and other objects from the natural world. Some are pencil drawings, and the rest are paintings that combine traditional watercolor, Derwent Graphitint watercolors, and water soluble graphite pencils.
